You Are Alive But Are You Living?
Have you ever thought that you aren’t living the life you want? Are you just going through the motions of life? Is it your personal Groundhog Day – do you go through the same routine every day; get up, go to work, go home and repeat?
Finally, the weekend comes and you can change it up a bit but not much. The weekend is often not too much more exciting than the weekdays. Sundays aren’t much fun, you mostly think about how you have to go back to prison, I mean work the next day. You are alive but are you living?
It is no fun to go through life not really living it the way you want to. We aren’t meant to be here to work out asses off in a job we don’t like and struggle for things. It is possible to really start living instead of just being alive.
How to Not Just Be Alive but Start Living
1. Be More Present
Living for the future or in the past isn’t going to lead to a happy life. Being present means being in the moment you are in. If you are hanging out with friends then enjoy their company, don’t think about how you don’t want to go to work the next day. Try to be present in every moment, even at work. You might discover great things about your job or whatever you are doing that you wouldn’t have noticed before.
Bashar says to act upon your highest joy in every moment in life and that will lead to what you want. You see your highest joy is who you truly are. If your highest joy is to not be at work yet you have a belief that if you leave your job you will be broke and therefore miserable then it might not be your highest joy.
You have to act upon your highest good AS LONG AS it aligns with your beliefs. If it doesn’t align with your beliefs, then it won’t benefit you. You might have some limiting beliefs that you need to get sorted out first.
2. Limit Your Social Media Time
Do you really need to check Facebook 5 times a day? Is it important that you follow someone’s Twitter for every part of their day? That’s not living. That is living someone else’s life. If you are checking Facebook that often you are bringing yourself into someone else’s experience, not living your own.
By living someone else’s experience, you might get the good things but you may also get the bad things. If someone is always complaining and you are reading it, it isn’t good for you. Why do you need to take on someone else’s problems, you have your own life to deal with. So be careful to not take on someone else’s energy in social media.
Try to cut back on all social media platforms if you are able to. If it is tempting to log in numerous times a day consider closing your account even temporarily to give yourself a break to live your own life, not someone else’s. See how you feel when you are only dealing with your own stuff. It might feel like a weight has been lifted off of you.
3. Turn Off Your TV
Similar to above, you are living someone else’s story when watching TV, not your own. It’s OK to watch a bit of TV but don’t overdo it. Switch it off, go for a walk instead, go visit friends, anything to get out of the house and away from the TV. TV usually has suspenseful storylines to keep the viewer on edge and they can make you anxious or stressed out. Pay attention to how you feel after a particular program. If you don’t feel good, it might be a good idea to permanently cut out that program.
TV can affect your vibration and lower it by causing you to get worried and anxious about what is going on with a made-up story. Is it really worth it to watch so many programs if it is just lowering your energy?
It can also affect your sleep. I have had bad dreams after watching a scary movie. I even woke up so scared that I was terrified to go back to sleep. Try to watch happier things especially right before bed.
4. Do Something for Your Personal Growth
Take a course or some action to achieve personal growth or some goal you’ve always wanted to accomplish. Maybe you’ve wanted to start your own business for a while, take the first step and learn about business plans. Taking even a quick course will help you to feel more fulfilled. Knowing that you are taking a step, any step towards making your life better will increase your mood and self-confidence. It will also put some drive and motivation back into your life.
When you are doing something for yourself it can help motivate you to share your experience with others and help others as well. I know when I learn something really awesome or I experience something cool I want to share it with my readers and hopefully help some of them.
5. Do Something Crazy
Seriously, jump out of an airplane, ask that person you have a crush on out, try a dance class. Anything to get you out of your comfort zone will help you to grow and feel more alive. It will also open up your root chakra if you are having some issues with it. You will be very proud of yourself for trying something new especially if it is something a bit scary and exciting! You will feel invincible to take on the world and it will motivate you to go for your dreams in a bigger way. It doesn’t hurt to give it a try!
