The Amazing Liver And Gallbladder Flush Instructions
I have done the amazing liver and gallbladder flush created by Andreas Moritz 16 times now over the past 2 years. I was hesitant to do it at first (like you may be), but it was one of the best things that I’ve done for myself. Of course, everyone is unique and will have their own experience.
This is one of the best cleanses I’ve done (which is why I keep doing it!), but it is quite intense. It takes commitment to do it and keep going with it.
In this article, we go over the amazing liver and gallbladder flush instructions and I’ll share my thoughts and experiences after doing it 16 times.
Note: Please note that I am not a doctor, and I am only sharing my experience with this cleanse. Be sure to check with your doctor before doing this cleanse, especially if you have health conditions or are on any medication. I also recommend purchasing the book, the Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush by Andreas Moritz as it goes into so much more detail than I can fit in one blog post.

Side Effects of The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush
There can be side effects of doing this flush which are all mentioned in the book, however, I am just going to give you my particular side effects after doing this cleanse 16 times. This is purely my experience.
My experience was positive, and I didn’t have too many side effects. However, I did get a slight headache the day of the cleanse. I believe it’s because I was detoxing, and my body was removing toxins.
I also experienced a tiny bit of nausea especially after drinking the oil and juice mixture. I think that might be because it was so gross, and I had a hard time stomaching it. It’s a good idea to leave a bucket by your bed in case you throw up. I never did vomit but read that some people have during the night of their cleanse.
The only other side effect that I had was having a sore stomach the next day. Your body goes through a lot and so your stomach is likely to hurt after passing all those stones. The pain went away for me after a day or two.
Ingredients You’ll Need for the Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush
- Apple juice – 6×1 liter
- Pure Epsom salt – 4 tablespoons
- Extra virgin olive oil – 4 oz (1/2 cup)
- Grapefruit juice – 6 oz (3/4 cup)
- Mason jar (for mixing the oil and juice)
Preparation for the Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush
It is important to prepare for this flush and make sure that you are getting your body ready for it. My preparation started a week before when I guzzled 1 liter of apple juice every day. I’m going to be honest; it was a lot!
Andreas Moritz says that the malic acid in the apple juice helps to soften the stones so that they can come out easily. It is important to follow his instructions to make sure that your cleanse goes smoothly.
I lined my cleanse up with the weekend because I wanted to make sure I didn’t have other obligations the day of the cleanse. It’s important to have nothing planned the day of the cleanse because you’ll be on the toilet for a good part of the day.
In his book, he mentions that it’s also helpful to line up your cleanse with the moon cycles.
I tried it at different times of the month and found that when I had my period, I released the most stones. I’m not sure if it’s because my body was already in the process of releasing, so it worked well for me. Although I recommend not doing that for your first time until you see how your body reacts to the first cleanse.
The other thing I want to mention is to be sure that this is something you are committed to doing. He explains in his book that once you do one cleanse, you’ll want to keep going, or else the stones will be ‘stuck’, and it may be uncomfortable for you. It’s better to do as many cleanses as you need or none at all.
When I started, I was consistent with doing them every month. I’m still getting out stones after 16 cleanses although I now only do the flush every few months.
The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush Instructions: The Day of the Cleanse
1. Apple Juice, Sweet Cherry Juice, or Malic Acid
As mentioned above, you should start to prepare a week before your cleanse by drinking 1 liter of apple juice, or 6 8oz portions of sour/tart cherry juice for 6 days, every day up until your cleanse. Sour cherry juice is much stronger, so you drink less of it if using it.
In the book, Andreas mentions other alternatives as well. What you are looking for here is malic acid. Apple juice is the easiest, most convenient way to get malic acid to soften your stones.
Summary:
- Six 32 oz containers (6×1 liter) of apple juice
- OR six 8 oz portions (6×240 ml) of sour tart/cherry juice
2. No Fats and Fasting
The day of your cleanse, you are not allowed to have fat of any kind. You are doing this to prepare your liver so that it releases many stones when you drink your oil and juice mixture later.
The day of the cleanse, up until noon you can have fruit, fruit juices, vegetables, plain rice, or pasta, and basically anything without any fat in it. Eat light and plan to drink all your apple juice in the morning.
Personally, I only have apple juice and a piece of fruit on the morning of my cleanses.
Summary:
- Only have your apple juice, fruits, vegetables, or plain carbs on the day of the cleanse. Keep it as light as possible and absolutely no fats the day of your cleanse. Stop eating or drinking anything except water at noon.
3. Prepare the Epsom Salts
You need to be very careful and make sure that you are using pure Epsom salts. You do not want to use the kind of Epsom salts for baths that have other ingredients to make them smell nice or look a certain color.
The Epsom salts should be labeled for internal use and can be found in the drugstore under the laxative section. I live in Canada and buy my pure Epsom salt from Costco, or Walmart.
Mine is pure and the only ingredient listed is magnesium sulfate. Make sure to read the ingredients to be sure. Mine doesn’t say for internal use but I know it is because of the ingredients on it. Your Epsom salts should only contain one ingredient as well which is magnesium sulfate.
If you can’t find pure Epsom salts, you can use magnesium citrate at the same dosage.
To prepare the Epsom salts, the day of your cleanse mix together 4 tablespoons of Epsom salt dissolved in 24 oz of water. Divide that into 4 portions
Summary:
- 4 tablespoons (60 grams) of Epsom salt (or magnesium citrate) dissolved in 24 oz. (about 710 ml, or 3 cups) of water. Divide into 4 portions.
4. Drink the Epsom Salt Water
You are going to drink your first Epsom salt and water mixture around 6 pm (or 4 hours before going to bed.) Plan to have your first dose 4 hours before bed.
You will then drink your next dose at 8 pm (or 2 hours before bed.) You will start to notice some bowel movements after your second dose so stay near a bathroom from now until after the cleanse is over.
The Epsom salt mixture doesn’t taste good. It’s hard for some people to get down. I think it’s gross but tastes better than the oil and juice mixture you’ll be drinking next.
Summary:
- Drink one dose of Epsom salt and water mixture 4 hours before bed.
- Drink the second dose 2 hours after the first dose.
5. Prepare and Drink the Oil & Juice
About 15 minutes before bed (2 hours after drinking your second dose of Epsom salt water), you’ll prepare your oil and juice mixture. You are going to use 4 oz (120 ml, or 1/2 cup) of pure extra virgin olive oil with 6 oz (180 ml, or 3/4 cup) of fresh grapefruit juice. You want to put these in a jar and shake them up.
If you don’t have grapefruit juice, you can use lemon juice with orange juice. I’ve used just orange juice before and it worked fine, but I found that fresh-squeezed pink grapefruit tastes the best.
You are then going to drink this whole mixture right before bed. I find this mixture quite disgusting, so I use a straw and plug my nose to not taste it as much. I actually have to talk myself through this part because I find it so gross.
Summary:
- 4 oz (120) ml of pure extra virgin olive oil with 6 oz of fresh grapefruit juice (or lemon juice and orange juice)
6. Go to Bed
Right after you have your oil and juice mixture, you want to immediately go to bed. It’s important to lay down right away as the stones will be starting to move down your body now.
Lay on your back for at least 20 minutes while your body does its thing. You may feel them moving, or you may not. It doesn’t matter if you don’t, it’s still working. If you want, you can imagine all the stones releasing and moving down your body to help release them.
Summary:
- Lay down on your back immediately after taking the oil and juice mixture and allow yourself to fall asleep
7. Drink More Epsom Salt and Water in the Morning
When you wake up in the morning, it’s time to drink your second last Epsom salt mixture. I’m going to be honest; this can be challenging. Your body is going through a lot and the Epsom salt mixture tastes even worse the next day! But you can do it.
If you want, you can lay back down after you drink it or get it and get moving. It’s up to you. I’ve noticed that moving helps to get the stones moving out quicker.
2 hours later it’s time to drink your last Epsom salt mixture.
You will start to be going to the washroom lots now and stones should be coming out after drinking your last mixture. It can take time. I actually thought it wasn’t working because while I was going to the washroom, the stones didn’t come out until after drinking my last mixture.
You will now be using the washroom a lot for the next few hours so make sure to stay home for at least a few hours (or all day if you prefer).
You can start to slowly eat again after your last mixture. Andreas recommends having some juice or fruit a few hours after your last mixture. Personally, I just eat when I feel ready.
Summary:
- When you wake up, drink your third dose of Epsom salt and water mixture
- 2 hours later, drink your fourth and final dose of Epsom salt and water mixture
Note: Andreas Moritz recommends that you do an enema before and after your flush. This is up to you. Personally, I don’t like enemas, but I used suppositories before and after just to make sure that I cleaned myself out. He recommends this so that no stones are stuck in your body after the flush as they can become toxic if not removed. I think it’s a good idea if you don’t mind enemas.

I got out hundreds of stones, some were big, and some were small. Mine were green but in the book, he describes people getting out red ones and different ones. The green ones look like peas or lima beans. It’s kind of gross but super beneficial to get them out. Some may be calcified and some not. I got out a few calcified ones on my fourth cleanse.
You can begin to slowly eat light again after your last dose, starting with something like fruit juice. Listen to your body and what it wants.
Final Thoughts – The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush Instructions
I had an amazing experience with my 16 liver and gallbladder flushes. I was able to go off of all my prescription medication after doing this cleanse a few times and feel so much better and more energized.
I support natural ways of taking charge of your health and getting to the root cause of the issue. No more putting a band-aid on your health and trying to fix your symptoms by only dealing with the symptoms and not the root cause. This flush gets to the root cause.
It’s time we take back control of our health and bodies and cleanse them from the inside out. Everything starts on the inside. If you are experiencing symptoms, it is coming from something inside of you.
I benefited greatly from this experience, and it was right for me. You have to ask your own intuition if this is right for you and go with your gut feeling.
