8 Benefits of Doing Spiritual Journal Prompts
• Journaling Helps You Get to Know Yourself Better
Journaling is one of the best ways to connect with yourself. There is something about putting your pen to paper that allows you to connect with yourself at a deeper level. It is like having a conversation with yourself.
Similarly, if you are standing beside someone and you have all these thoughts, but you never speak them, they don’t get to know you. But once you start up a conversation, you get to know each other.
Journaling is like starting a conversation with yourself. You get to say and understand what’s on your mind and bring awareness to the thoughts that you are keeping inside.
• Journaling Connects You to Your Higher Self
When you sit down to write your spiritual journal prompts, your higher self comes through. Think of it like channeling where you are in the flow and words are coming through you and onto the paper. You are having a conversation with your higher self.
You may not be aware that this is happening as it feels so natural, but it is a great way to connect with your higher self for answers. Your higher self has a broader perspective and can provide you with insights that you may not be able to see from where you are.
• Spiritual Journal Prompts Help You Discover Who You Are and What You Want
Journaling connects you to your inner self. It helps you to see things through your soul’s perspective. Journaling helps you to go deep into your soul and truly connect with what it wants and what it is here to do.
Anytime you can connect to your soul, you receive information that your conscious mind doesn’t have. It stores everything from your past lives to what your biggest desires are in this lifetime. Journaling is a great way to connect with yourself and receive more of the information that you seek to help you live your best life.
• Journaling Helps You Get Clear on Your Goals
It’s really important to be clear about what your goals are because if you don’t know what you want then it will be hard to create it.
Many people are very aware of what they don’t want but not so clear about what they do want. If you don’t know, simply think about what you don’t want and then reverse it. You want the opposite of what you don’t want.
Journaling helps you get crystal clear so that the universe knows what to bring you. The more specific you are, the better. It also helps you to get in the correct mindset to attract your desire by focusing on what you do want vs what you don’t want.
• Journaling Helps You to Identify Your Triggers
A trigger is a wound inside of you that makes you feel bad and feels painful. It is worth it to heal these wounds so that you can live your best life.
When you journal, triggers may come up to the surface. How do you know what is one?
It feels really uncomfortable, and you most likely don’t want to look at it. It can cause you to feel angry, sad, or frustrated.
I know this may seem like a bad thing but it’s good to heal your triggers and worth it to do the shadow work. It benefits you big time. Once they are healed, they no longer affect you. You are essentially set free from the pain that you are holding onto.

• Spiritual Journaling Helps You to Identify What Is Holding You Back
Letting go can be difficult but also very important for moving your life ahead. You may be stuck somewhere in the past without realizing it. Spiritual journal prompts help you recognize where you are stuck and then how to let go of it.
You may have limiting beliefs that aren’t serving you and until you bring awareness to them, they will continue to affect you in your life. Journaling helps you to see and release these beliefs. It takes you through a process of understanding why you have them and then changing them into new beliefs that now serve you in an empowering way.
• Spiritual Journal Prompts Help You to Manifest Faster
When you put something down on paper, magic happens and you are able to manifest faster. There is something about putting what you want out into the universe that brings it to you faster.
When you keep it inside, you are holding it close to you. But when you get it out of your head through journaling, it lets the universe know that you are serious. It isn’t just a nice thought you are having. You are serious about manifesting your desire.
It also helps to clear your head so that new information can come in that can potentially bring it to you faster. You may receive new insights and ideas of how to get this thing you want when you have space for it to come in.
• Journaling Clears Your Head
Journaling is amazing for clearing your head of any cluttered thoughts. When you release what is on your mind you make room for new ideas to come in. If you are holding onto ideas and not releasing them in some way, through speaking, journaling, creating, etc., then they can weigh on you.
Spiritual journal prompts are a great way to release what is on your mind and clear out things that you may not even be aware of that are on your mind. They help to bring a new perspective which can release stuck energy from your mind.

How to Journal
• Get a Nice Notebook & A Good Pen
Get a cute notebook that you will enjoy writing in. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just something you like. I buy mine from the dollar store and I like buying different colors.
It’s also worth it to invest in some good pens. There’s nothing worse than sitting down to journal only to have your hand cramp up right away and the ink barely visible. I recommend gel pens. Once again get something you like. I use purple gel pens and I feel good when using them. It helps me to be creative and not as serious.
• Find a Quiet Time That You Can Concentrate
Make sure to pick a time that you won’t be disturbed, and you can get into a flow state. If you are constantly being disturbed, it takes a long time to get back into the same head space as you were in. So, do yourself a favor and save yourself time by making sure that you won’t be interrupted.
• Grab a Comforting Drink
A comforting drink can help to get you in a good mindset so you can focus on your journal prompts. Maybe you have a drink that relaxes you? This will help you to relax and more easily receive answers and insights as you go through your prompts.
Having a comforting drink can also be a ritual for you every time you do journal prompts. It helps to set your mood. Rituals are great because they prepare you for whatever task you are about to embark on.
• Find a List of Spiritual Journal Prompts
Have your list of journal prompts ready to go so that you aren’t spending hours searching on the internet. Print out a list or have them ready on your phone so that when it’s time to do your journal prompts you can focus on the task at hand without being distracted trying to find questions.
• Journal Everything That Is on Your Mind Without Holding Yourself Back
It’s important when you journal to not hold yourself back. This is your chance to release and say what is on your mind. No one else is going to see your journal, so allow yourself to be honest with yourself. You might see something and have realizations that you didn’t have before.
Can You Journal on the Computer?
You can journal on the computer and still get benefits, however, there are benefits to both.
Journaling on the computer is faster but it may not connect you to the flow of energy as much as journaling pen to paper. When you are writing down words with your hand, it helps you to tune into your intuition and your soul at a deeper level. Your brain is more activated when writing something down than typing it.
You really just have to test it out for yourself and notice when you get your deepest insights. Is it on the computer or when you are writing them down?
