The Most Powerful Journaling Prompts For Self-Worth
Building your self-worth is a great way to cultivate a deeper relationship with yourself, speed up your manifestations, change how other people treat you, and receive all that you want.
If you have low self-worth, then you don’t value yourself and your outside world reflects that back to you by how other people treat you and ultimately how you feel.
Journaling for self-worth is a great, easy way to strengthen your self-worth and begin to change your life from the inside out.
When you start to change from the inside, the outside follows shortly after, and you begin to get the reflection of how you feel inside. If you value yourself, that is what comes back to you.
What Is Self-Worth?
Self-worth, self-esteem, self-love, and self-confidence all have very similar meanings but with small differences in what they mean. Self-worth is how worthy you feel to receive good things in your life. It is how much value you hold within yourself.
You are all born worthy; however, you have developed beliefs as you grow up that say you aren’t as worthy if you don’t do A, B, or C. Or that you aren’t worthy if you don’t have A, B, or C.
The truth is that we are all just as worthy as everyone else no matter what we’ve done or what we have. Different people measure their self-worth in different ways.
One person may think that they are worthy because they have a nice car, while another person may think they are worthy because they are a good person.
On the other hand, one person may think they are NOT worthy if they don’t have financial success, while another person may not feel worthy if they don’t have any friends.
As you can see, there are no rules to what makes someone feel worthy, it is all their perception and what they believe makes them worthy or not.
But what if you could feel worthy no matter what? What if you felt worthy before you had the financial success or before you were in the relationship you want?
How Does Journaling for Self-Worth Benefit You?
If you can feel worthy before receiving the things that make you feel worthy, that will truly change your life. You see, that is how manifesting works.
Feeling worthy before you get the thing you want will bring the thing you want to you. It also feels really good! And isn’t that the point, to feel good? You want the manifestation to feel good so if you can feel good and worthy first, then that is what you are going after.
Journaling for self-worth helps you to feel a different way and cultivate a new perspective of yourself. If you are focusing on what you love and value about yourself vs what you don’t like, then your perspective will shift and soften to feeling better about yourself. You start to remember why you are so amazing. Instead of focusing on the negative, you focus on the positive.
Journaling for self-worth helps you to shift your thoughts and feelings to ones that highlight your strengths. When you focus on your strengths, you amplify them.
How to Improve Self-Worth
#1 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – Journaling Prompts
One of the best ways to improve your self-worth is to do journal prompts. They guide you and help you to see just have valuable and worthy you are. You may have forgotten or have not been focusing on your strengths.
Journaling prompts can get you to a place to look at your positive attributes and also see what actions you can take to improve your self-worth.
#2 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – Focus on Your Strengths
One of the best ways to improve your self-worth is to focus on your strengths, which is what journaling prompts help you to do.
When you focus on what you are good at vs what you are bad at, it helps you to see the value within you. You remember that you are good at things and that you do have special abilities that make you unique.
#3 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – Trust Yourself & Your Decisions
If you don’t feel worthy, then you likely tend to not trust yourself or your decisions as much as someone else’s. You may go to others for advice all the time because you don’t trust that you will make the right decision. Or you make a decision and then someone talks you out of it and because you trust them more than yourself, you do what they say.
I’ve been there many times and I didn’t realize at the time that it was connected to my self-worth. I regret listening to other people over myself and because I didn’t have high self-worth, I didn’t trust myself. It put me through a lot of pain and regret because if I would have trusted myself and done what I wanted, my life would be very different.
Understand that you and only you have your intuition and higher self guiding you. When you feel your intuition speaking, it knows what is best. The other people around you may be acting out of their own fears and limitations.
Your higher self doesn’t see the same limitations and knows that if you follow it, you will have the experience you want. Trust in what you feel and most of all, trust in yourself and that you are capable of making the right decisions for yourself.

#4 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – See Yourself Through a New Perspective
If you’ve ever looked into a newborn baby’s eyes or a pet that you adore, you see their innocence and their worthiness. That was once you; when you were born, someone saw you like that too.
Source, your angels, spirit guides, or whatever else you want to name it sees you like that as well. They see you as unconditional love. Try to see yourself the same way they see you. You are worthy and perfect just as you are.
#5 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – Only Say “Yes” or “No” When You Want To
Through experience, I’ve found that when you don’t do what you want to do, it makes you feel bad about yourself and less worthy. So, if you want to say yes and do something, then do it! No matter what anyone else says.
The same goes for saying no. Many people have a hard time saying no because they don’t want to upset or disappoint someone else. But what about disappointing or upsetting yourself? Do your needs not matter? Of course, they do. Nurture yourself just as you do with other people.
#6 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – Don’t Place Your Value on What You Have or What You’ve Accomplished
It can be difficult to see yourself as worthy if you make your worthiness about what you have or have not accomplished. Maybe you are trying to reach a goal and since you haven’t got there yet, you feel less worthy.
Try and reframe what is going on in your mind and see yourself as worthy no matter what. Realize that you are on your way to that goal and whether you reach it soon or not, it doesn’t make you less worthy.
You wouldn’t say to a kid who wants to be a rock star but isn’t yet, “since you aren’t a rock star, you aren’t worthy”. Of course not! You know that child is worthy just for being them and whether or not they become a rock star you’ll still love them the same. You would never think that they aren’t worthy because they haven’t accomplished something.
#7 Way to Improve Your Self-Worth – Accept Compliments
I’ve found that most people dismiss compliments as being not true while taking criticism as the ultimate truth. Both are simply someone else’s opinion.
However, next time you receive a compliment, what if you could really feel it as true? Even if you don’t believe it, if someone else said it then they see it within you. Really try to feel into the compliment and allow it to make you feel good.
Yes, your worth ultimately comes from inside of you no matter what anyone else says, but why not enjoy the compliments you get as a way to strengthen what is already true within you.
How to Do Journaling for Self-Worth Prompts
-
Pick a Time
I recommend picking a time that you know you will do them. Add your journaling for self-worth prompts into your schedule so that you don’t forget to do them or get too busy.
They are important, so treating them as essential will ensure you do them when you say you will.
-
Eliminate Distractions
Turn off your phone, shut off the tv, wait for your kids to go to bed, and try to do your journaling for self-worth at a time that you know you won’t be distracted.
You want to really feel the emotions that are coming up and tune into your soul. The best way to do this is distraction-free.
-
Use Your Favorite Journal and Pen
This isn’t something you have to do as you can use whatever you have at home. However, I’ve found that when you journal with a beautiful journal and a pen that writes nicely, you enjoy the process more and you are more likely to stick with it.
I won’t journal with those really cheap pens that the ink barely comes out of because they frustrate me. So, I always use my favorite purple gel pens and I enjoy what I’m doing. My hand doesn’t hurt, and I like looking at the color.
-
Find Your Prompts
Make sure that when you sit down you have some prompts ready to go. You don’t want to be looking all over the internet for your questions when it’s time to do this. You can use the ones I have here or combine them with other ones that you find.
