How To Stop Limiting Yourself & Your Manifestations
How To Stop Limiting Yourself & Your Manifestations
You may be limiting yourself to what you can have without even realizing it. If you have tried to achieve something in the past and it didn’t work then you might think that the goal is too big for you. Or perhaps someone else told you that you weren’t capable of achieving it.
After a while, you start to believe them. You got used to this idea that you probably won’t achieve your goal because you were programmed to believe by different people when you were young that “you can’t have everything you want.”
So, you may have been limiting yourself and what you can achieve for so long now that you believe you aren’t capable of achieving certain things in your life. I am here to help you recognize where you might be limiting yourself and how to change it.
That Ah-Ha Moment – Are You Limiting Yourself Without Realizing It?
My CrossFit coach has been doing these icebreakers where he asks us questions about our lives before class. Today he asked us “what is one thing that you want but don’t think you’ll ever be able to have or do?” I shouted out “pull-ups.”
Some other women in the group said things such as a boyfriend and bigger boobs. One guy said there are too many things to name. And then one guy said “Nothing. I don’t like to put limits on myself like that.”
I was super impressed by his answer and also really disappointed with mine. I realized that most of us, including myself, put limits on what we can have.
Now I know that anyone can have anything they want. But my first gut reaction was to put a limit on what I could accomplish. I realized at that point that I needed to do something about it.

How to Stop Limiting Yourself & Release Resistance
So, what did I do and what can you do to stop limiting yourself? I wrote a list of everything that I currently don’t have but that I want to have. Before my list, I wrote “I am so happy that I am on my way to…” and then applied what I want to achieve. So, my list went something like this:
I am so happy that I am on my way to:
- Doing pull-ups
- Receiving a trip to Bora Bora
- Becoming financially free
So, you might be asking yourself why didn’t I pretend as if I already had these things? Why did I write out my list the way I did? Because in the Law of Attraction, you are supposed to act as if you have the things you want already.
Well, the reason is that I have less resistance to this list than to a list that says I have these things already. I also believe it to be true.
Let me explain; if I had put that I am able to do pull-ups, then the little voice in my head would say “no you can’t.” BUT since I put that I am well on my way to doing pull-ups then my mind believes it. Of course, I am. I am doing CrossFit again and building up my strength. I am well on my way to achieving this goal. You see, less resistance.
If you can do it the other way and pretend that it has happened already then great, write it out that way. But if your mind is not convinced that you can do or have these things and it creates resistance, then write it out in the way I did. It is more believable and softens your vibration around them.
The whole idea is to go from “I can’t do this” to “I am on my way to doing this.” If you can get to “I am doing this” without resistance then great!
Think About the Things You’ve Manifested That at One Time You Never Believed Were Possible
I can’t even tell you how many things I thought were impossible at one time that I eventually achieved. When I look back in hindsight these once impossible things seem so easy now. They didn’t even take that long to achieve.
If you are at the start of a new goal then it is more difficult to see the finish line. Whereas, once you get into something, you slowly gain more confidence and trust that you can do it.
For example, a year ago I sat down with my CrossFit coach and we wrote out my 3-month goals. I could currently back squat 145 pounds. One of the goals he wrote out for me was that I would be able to back squat 200 pounds in three months. At the time, I laughed and thought “there is no way on earth I’ll even be able to squat 200 pounds.” I actually thought it was impossible for me. I believed other people could do it but not that I was capable of it.
I didn’t achieve that goal in 3 months. But I practiced my back squats -A LOT. I slowly gained more confidence, strength, and belief that I could do it. Within 5 months I was able to back squat 200 pounds. It was an incredible feeling!
So, it did eventually happen, just not in the time frame we had planned. But I’d rather it take longer to achieve my goals and actually achieve them than to give up and never achieve them.
Listen to Your Heart More Than Your Mind – It Knows the Voice of Your Soul
Our minds often like to tell us that we can’t do something when we first get a challenging new idea. Maybe we don’t have the experience or knowledge and believe that since we don’t have it now we will never have it.
Our minds can talk us out of things. That is why we need to listen to our hearts more and our minds less. Our heart knows what we want and how to do it.
Our minds are great for many things but don’t fully understand our souls. Our minds like to rationalize things and make sense of them. Whereas, our hearts know our soul’s purpose and understand that we can do it even if it doesn’t make sense in our mind.
Besides, all things can be learned. No one is an expert when they first start something. With practice, eventually, you gain enough confidence to know that you can achieve what you want.
Our manifestations will happen a lot faster if we know this from the start. Trusting that you can have everything you want will speed up your manifestations. Trust in what your gut and heart are telling you even if you can’t possibly understand how it will work yet.
If you go in saying that right now you aren’t able to achieve your goal but you are working towards it, then it shifts your mindset in the right direction. It is much more powerful to state that than to say “it’s impossible.” Take the action steps to achieve your goal and that will also increase your belief that you can have it.
You Can Have Anything That You Believe Is Possible
When you are limiting yourself with what you can have and do, then it will be a lot harder to achieve those things. You have to believe it is possible to achieve them.
You don’t have to believe that you will get them overnight or in a year even, but you just have to believe that one day you will be able to do them and that it is possible.
Try to keep an open mind about everything in your life and know that if you can imagine something then it is never impossible. You can be, do or have anything you want.
