Are you having trouble getting motivated in the morning? Do you dread mornings because you aren’t driven to get going whatsoever? Do you wish that you were more of a morning person and had more ambition upon first waking up?
Not everyone is a morning person and it can be difficult to get motivated in the morning. A few small changes as to how you begin your morning can have a significant impact on how you feel and therefore how your day goes.
These small changes are easy to implement and extremely powerful to get you motivated in the morning even if you aren’t a morning person.
How to Get Motivated in The Morning
1. Visualize Your Day
One of the best ways to get motivated in the morning is to visualize your day as you want it to be. Imagine all the great things that will happen in your day.
Envision exactly how you want your day to play out. Really imagine how it would feel to have all those things happen.
Visualize yourself at the very end of the day saying “this was the best day! I can’t believe all these great things that happened.” Use your own words of course. But really try to feel how you want your day to go and the end result.
Imagine yourself going to bed at night thinking about what a great day it was and really getting into the details of how your ideal day went.
2. Listen or Watch a Motivational Video
There are plenty of motivational videos on YouTube that you can watch in the morning to get you motivated. These can literally change your mood from somber to super pumped and excited to take on the day!
I find motivational content super powerful for starting your day right.
Even watching a 5-minute motivational video in the morning can really enhance your mood and make you want to take on the world!
3. Listen to Music You Enjoy
Music is great for increasing your mood especially if it’s music you really enjoy. Music can shift your mood from blah to motivated. The beats in the music are great for raising your vibe naturally without all the hard work of trying to force yourself to be motivated on your own.
Begin your morning by listening to your favorite music for an instant increase in your motivation. I know for sure this works as the right type of music is an instant motivator.
4. Write Out Your Goals for that Day
Take 5 minutes in the morning to write out your goals for the day. What do you want to accomplish?
This will really help you to stay motivated and on track for the day. They can be simple goals such as running an errand or going to the gym.
At the end of the day review them and check off the ones you accomplished.
By doing this, your brain will see that you’ve accomplished something, and it is like a little reward for yourself; just having the satisfaction of achieving even 1 or 2 things on your list.
I recommend not making your list too crazy because you might feel bad if you don’t get everything done especially in the beginning.
When starting out, just write a couple of simple things that you know you’ll achieve. Then when you review it at night and you’ve accomplished them, your brain will be really happy that you achieved the things on your list.
Be sure to also put things on your list that you enjoy and that will make you feel good so that you are excited about creating your goals list.
5. Decide How You Are Going to Feel Every Day in the Morning
By simply deciding how you want to feel during the day, you are setting yourself up for success. Maybe you want your day to be light and fun where you laugh a lot – decide that.
Or maybe you want a productive day where you feel like you’ve accomplished a lot – decide that.
Set the tone for the day and keep that in mind as you move through your day.
It helps to repeat it in your head a few times to make it stick. So maybe you repeat “fun, fun, fun.” Or you do a quick journaling exercise where you write “today I will feel happy and laugh a lot.”
6. Start Your Day with a Morning Ritual
Starting your day with a morning ritual is an excellent way to get motivated in the morning. It is super empowering to start your day the way you want and to accomplish what you set out to do.
This allows you to control how your day begins and it sets good habits that will stick with you. It is also motivating to be able to cross things off your list and know that you’ve accomplished what you planned on doing.
Morning rituals are powerful and something that many successful people do. Successful people know that being motivated in the morning is vital to how their day plays out. Successful people start their day in the best way they can.
My favorite morning ritual was created by internet millionaire Stefan James called Morning Ritual Mastery. You can receive more information HERE.
Bottom Line: How to Get Motivated in the Morning
How you start your day plays a huge part in how the rest of your day goes.
When you create your day the way you want, then your day generally goes smoother and plays out in a way that is beneficial to you.
When you start the day without a plan then you are more likely to react to the things around you. You will be going with the agenda of outer circumstances instead of creating it the way you want. You will be reacting versus creating.
Why not get motivated in the morning and start your day the way you want!
Starting your day with happiness, motivation and a goals list will ensure that you are able to achieve the things you want and feel the way you want. There is nothing more powerful than being motivated in the morning and creating your day the way you want!
