How To Discover Your Soul’s Blueprint
I have been pondering the understanding of our soul’s blueprint and pain and suffering in the world for a while now.
I’ve gone through many challenges and the more I talk to people the more challenges I see others facing. It hurts my heart to see so many people going through so much suffering and I wanted to explore the deeper meaning of it all.
So, as I usually do, I dug a bit deeper. I needed to understand why? Why can’t everyone be happy and live the lives they’d prefer? Why is there so much deep-rooted pain? How do we overcome this pain so that we can truly be happy?
Your Soul’s Blueprint – Why Do We Have So Many Life Challenges?
We All Have a Pre-Birth Soul Blueprint
Before you come to earth you create a blueprint of the experiences you want to encounter in order to help evolve your soul and expand your consciousness. You choose many of the ‘big’ challenges you face.
Before you incarnated you sat down with your council of spiritual members and decided what would be best in this lifetime in order for you to evolve. Each lifetime is different and each lifetime has different experiences.
As hard as it may be to believe, you chose many of the things you are experiencing and have experienced. It can feel like “why on earth would I choose these things?” But from a higher perspective, you wanted to learn from them.
- You chose your parents before you come to earth and they chose you
- You chose where you would live
- You chose certain major challenges that you’d encounter as you knew your soul would expand from them
- You chose your astrology sign and what time you were born
- You chose many people you will interact with (soul members/family)
Your spiritual team and yourself created a blueprint for your life. You knew there’d be free will and that you might not follow the path you created. Your soul was ok with that. It knows that you will learn things no matter what path you decide to take. You can’t get it wrong or mess it up in any way.

If We Have a Soul Blueprint Then How Does Free Will Factor into It?
Does that mean we don’t have free will? No, we still do. We have free will in how we want to deal with these challenges and we have free will in what we want to create. However, it is important to remember that your higher self is also a creator and a part of you. Therefore, if it wants these challenges in order to grow, it will attract them into your experience.
The major experiences are planned out, but it is up to you if you want to go through with them or not and it is up to you how you want to go through them. Once you learn what you are trying to learn, the challenge will disappear and there will be new, exciting things to learn.
Challenges can be fun and enlightening. They aren’t all bad. They can bring you a sense of accomplishment and expand your awareness in ways you never knew was possible. They can bring great joy and fulfillment also.
You Have a Soul Group That Help You with Your Soul’s Blueprint & Life Challenges
Your soul group is a group of people who you incarnate with that help you along your journey and help you to accomplish what you want to achieve. Your soul group may be a family member, a friend, a co-worker, and even an enemy. Not everyone from your soul group incarnates at the same time into the same lifetime.
Sometimes you choose to learn from your enemies, so someone in your soul group will agree to play that part. Life is almost like a big play or video game. Everyone has their role and plays a part. Everyone chooses a different part to play and you are all helping each other out.
You will be able to see the higher perspective when you travel back into the spirit world. But for now, understanding this may help you to navigate through life easier.
If you’ve ever met someone and had the feeling you’ve known them before, they are probably from your soul group. You chose pivotal moments to meet up with them in this lifetime. Sometimes they come into your life when you need them or if you’ve fallen off your path to help you get back on it.
Why Would Someone Chose to Have So Many Challenges & Why Do We All Have Different Ones?
Challenges are here to help us to grow and evolve our souls. We chose them in our soul blueprint before we came down to earth.
Someone who would want to get through their lessons quicker would choose more difficult challenges and a higher number of challenges. Your soul along with your spirit guides decides how many challenges would be best for you in your current lifetime.
We have different challenges because everyone wants to learn different things and everyone has different past lives. A soul wouldn’t need to choose a similar challenge as they did in a past life if they’ve already overcome it. They’d choose a different experience.
For example, someone might be learning patience so they will choose a challenge that enables them to learn that. Someone else might be learning compassion so they will choose a challenge that enables them to learn that.
How Can You Navigate Through Your Challenges Much More Easily?
It is all about perspective. I always say, “there’s a lesson in every challenge.”
Your higher self doesn’t see them as something that is here to harm you, but something that is here to help you. If you can look at them in a way to help you and put a different perspective on them then you will be able to use them to your advance.
For example, many people go through challenges very deeply because they will be teaching them to others in this lifetime. So, they need to go through every part of it quite intensely as that is how they will help others.
Our greatest challenges can be our greatest gifts if we can see them for what they are.
Good & Bad Is an Illusion – Who Really Defines What is Positive Or Negative?
Bad is a term we use to describe something unwanted. But it is just our perspective that it is unwanted.
Your higher self may not agree that it is bad. In fact, what you think is bad, your higher self may think it good. It may be teaching you what you came to earth to learn.
So, it is joyful as it knows the whole picture and you can only see a small fraction of what is happening. You don’t have the birds-eye view like your higher self does.
You may think something is good whereas your higher self doesn’t agree. It is an illusion because you don’t have all the facts.
For example, you may think a certain relationship is good for you because you really like this person, you get along great and you have fun together. However, your higher self knows that there is someone around the corner that is much better for you that will help you grow on your life journey, and will give you so much more fulfillment.
So, as you depart from your current relationship that you think is so great it gives you pain. Whereas your higher self knows that it can be so much better and what you thought of as ‘good’ isn’t nearly as amazing as what lies ahead.
We decide what is good and bad in our minds but what if it is an illusion? What if what we think is good is really bad and what we think is bad is really good?
I’m sure you’ve heard the term Blessing in Disguise before? What if your bad situation is that? We really don’t know all the facts when we are in the situation but we can often look back and see the truth of a situation.
The pain and suffering you are feeling may not be necessary as everything is working out and that is the easiest way to get you to what you want.
How Can You Figure Out Your Soul’s Blueprint?
The easiest way to figure out what your soul’s mission is is to ask yourself these questions:
- What excites me and I could talk about all day long?
- What kinds of things did I enjoy doing as a child and why?
- What do I enjoy doing in my spare time?
- If I had all the money in the world what would I do?
- What do I enjoy learning about? Do you watch tv shows about things you enjoy? There could be clues in there.
What Might Be Holding You Back from Following Your Soul’s Blueprint?
The main thing that holds someone back is fear, core beliefs, and not feeling worthy.
- Fear – Fear of the unknown holds people back. The known past is much more comfortable than the unknown future. We know how to deal with the same situation but if an unknown situation comes up, it can make us fearful because we don’t know the outcome.
- Core Beliefs – We all have beliefs that were installed in us from childhood. Some of them don’t serve us. A belief is just a thought you keep thinking. But beliefs can hold us back. For example, if you have a belief that money is hard to make and all of a sudden, an opportunity comes easily to you and involves lots of money, your belief will tell you it is too good to be true so it must not be valid. That might stop you from taking action.
- Feeling Unworthy – Not feeling worthy is a big factor that stops people from following their soul’s blueprint. We can develop feelings of unworthiness from childhood and from being rejected over and over again. Eventually, we think “who am I to do this thing?” Feeling unworthy is huge for stopping someone from achieving their goals.
How Can You Overcome These Things That Are Holding You Back?
- Fear – Is about embracing the unknown and understanding that anything new will feel unsafe. It is part of the process. But nothing great comes from staying where you are.
* Once you do things you are fearful of, eventually they will become your new normal as you expand your comfort zone more and more.
- Core Beliefs – You can do things and say things to change those beliefs.
* For example, look in the mirror and tell yourself you love yourself 3x day for 30 days and see what happens. I guarantee you start to love yourself more.
* It is also about stopping the negative limiting thought the moment it appears. Don’t let yourself go to default thinking, catch it and stop it in its tracks.
- Feeling Unworthy – This is about understanding that we are all one and all made from the same creator, therefore how can one person be better than the other?
* Make a list of your strengths and read them to yourself. Get other people in your life to write out 5 things they like about you and read them often.
How Does the Universe, Spirit Guides, Etc. Nudge You Towards Your Soul’s Blueprint?
Your spirit guides are always nudging you on your path. They might get your attention to look at a certain license plate that delivers a message. Or they might get you to change the radio station just as a song that can help you is starting. They are always doing things to help you stay on your path. These are ways they may try to get your attention:
- See/Hear Something 3x or More
- License Plates
- Conversations Around You
- Music/Radio
- Conversations with You That Other People Bring Up – A Stranger May Say Something to You
- Messages in Dreams
How Do You Know If What You Are Currently Doing Is Part of Your Soul’s Blueprint?
- Are the things you are doing giving you energy or taking away your energy? If something is giving you energy then it is part of your path and if it is draining you then it isn’t for your highest good.
- Do you feel excited to get up most days or is it hard to get out of bed and you feel drained? If you feel excited then you are on your life path. If you feel drained you aren’t on your life path.
- Are you feeling like you are being pulled in another direction or is what you’re doing just not feeling right? Sometimes your intuition knows when something isn’t for your highest good. Pay attention if you are being guided to try something new.
- Are you learning things right now in your current situation that you know will benefit you for what you want to do? There is much learning in the process and what you are currently doing may be part of your path even if it seems unrelated.
- Is time going fast or slow? If you are on your path, time goes by very fast. If time seems to be frozen then you probably aren’t on your path.
Conclusion – How to Discover Your Soul’s Blueprint
You chose certain challenges in order to grow and learn from them. If you embrace the challenges and really take in the lessons then you will be able to move through them so much quicker. That is what your soul wants, to learn. Fighting it will only prolong it and make it more painful.
Life challenges don’t often feel good. But what if you can look at them from a different perspective? What if you can see them as exactly what your soul came down here to learn? What if the bad things may actually be good things?
Try for a little while to see your challenges through new eyes with a different perspective. You may find the answers you seek through that new perspective and understand that indeed you needed them for some reason even though it was super difficult to get through them.
Always follow your joy as it is your higher self’s guidance showing you that you are on the right path. It is showing you that you are on the path you chose before you incarnated.
You can turn your challenges into the greatest gift you can give yourself – the accomplishment of following your soul’s blueprint and overcoming the lessons you came to earth to learn. There is nothing greater than knowing that your soul is evolving and won’t have to repeat the same challenges in your next incarnation.

Thanks so much for your support, I truly appreciate it!
I’ve only touched on the surface of soul contracts and the challenges you chose before you incarnated. The best books I’ve read on this subject are “Your Souls Gift” and “Your Souls Plan”. These books really help you to understand at a deeper level the challenges you chose for this lifetime and other lifetimes and why things happen in your life the way they do.
