Dreams And Lucid Dreams – What Are They Telling You?
What is a dream and why do we have them? Everyone dreams but many people don’t remember them, so they don’t know they’ve dreamt but indeed they have. Some people have very vivid dreams that they remember and some people have lucid dreams.
A dream feels like it is happening all night but in reality, it is downloaded to you in seconds before you wake up.
What are Your Dreams and Lucid Dreams Telling You?
1. Dreams Show Us Where Our Vibration Is
Dreams are our subconscious way of showing us what is going on in our lives. The most important thing to pay attention to in your dreams is how it made you feel.
Don’t worry about analyzing every symbol at first but note how you felt in the dream. The way you feel in a dream is a reflection of how you feel in your waking life. It shows you where your vibration is.
Often you aren’t tuned in to how you feel in your everyday life so a dream will try to get your attention to things you need to be aware of and change.
2. Dreams Are Symbols and Not Always a Literal Meaning of Something
Everything in a dream isn’t a literal explanation of how you feel in your waking life.
Say for example you have a dream you miss your ex-girlfriend; this doesn’t necessarily mean that you miss her. Maybe you just miss having someone you are close to. Maybe there was a certain thing you miss doing with her or you miss a certain quality that she has.
It doesn’t mean you should run back to your ex because you miss him or her. You are only missing a part of the relationship and that is what your subconscious is showing you.
3. Dreams Can Be Helpful
Dreams can tell you things that are useful in your life. For example, I was having some issues with the zippers on my pillows not closing properly. I went to sleep and I woke up in the middle of the night and felt my pillow and thought about the broken zipper. I had a dream that night about how to fix it. In the morning I fixed it the same way I did in my dream and it worked! It was pretty cool to be able to learn something in my dream.
Your dreams may be helping you out in different ways if you pay attention. Maybe a dream shows you how to mend a relationship with a friend or which course of action to take in a given situation. Dreams can be a great help if you are open to receiving the guidance they are giving you.

4. Keep a Dream Journal to Record All Your Dreams & Lucid Dreams
If you want to remember your dreams, as soon as you wake up write them down in a journal that you have beside your bed. If you fall asleep thinking you’ll write them down when you wake up again chances are you’ll forget.
A trick I do to remember my dreams is as soon as I wake up, I replay the dream over in my head 2 or 3 times and that helps to make it stick in my memory.
A dream journal is a better tool but if you are too tired to write down all the details going over it in your head will help it to not be forgotten when you awake again. Every once in a while look over your dream journal to see any patterns or anything that may be useful to you in your life.
What Are Lucid Dreams?
A lucid dream is a dream you have where you know you are dreaming. You are aware in your dream that you are not awake and what is happening isn’t real. You have more control over the dream than if you weren’t aware of the sleeping state you are in. Lucid dreams are a lot of fun! Once you realize you are dreaming you can then start to create things that you want.
How to Recognize When You Are in a Lucid Dream
Certain things can alert us to the fact that we are dreaming and not awake. For example, I woke up and tried to turn on my lamp and it didn’t turn on, after a couple of minutes it alerted my subconscious that I was dreaming. I wasn’t physically trying to turn on the lamp, it was all happening in my dream. Now whenever it happens that an electrical device doesn’t work, I instantly know that I am dreaming.
Something may seem really out of the ordinary in a dream and if you can notice that and pay attention you may be able to alert yourself that you are indeed in a dream. It’s not an easy thing to do and it takes practice. Before you go to sleep at night you have to set the intention to recognize that you are dreaming and that you’d like to have a lucid dream.
How to Induce Lucid Dreams
There are a few things that can help you have lucid dreams throughout the night. You can try doing a guided meditation that is specifically for lucid dreaming. Or before you go to bed you can tell yourself that you’d like to have a lucid dream and put that intention in your head. You can use a symbol to recognize when you are in a lucid dream.
For example, you can say to yourself that if you see a red cup you will know you are dreaming. It is the same as in the movie “Inception”. In the movie, Leonardo picks an object to recognize to let him know he is dreaming. By telling your subconscious this over and over it will be aware to pay attention to the dream symbol you give it.
I have also found that when I am on a higher vibration, I have more vivid dreams and especially lucid dreams. By bringing your vibration up you get more of what you want and if you want to have lucid dreams it will be more likely to happen. I also found that the more hours you are sleeping at night, the easier it will be to have lucid dreams. If I get past 9 hours, I almost always have very vivid dreams and often lucid dreams.
Have Fun in Your Lucid Dreams
Lucid dreams are fun! Play around with them.
I will create things in my dream that are fun and exciting. Sometimes as soon as I recognize I am dreaming I feel instantly safe knowing that nothing can hurt me because it’s not real. I then wait in the excitement of what my dream will show me.
It is fantastic to dream and know you are dreaming and have fun creating what you want. It also makes you feel more powerful to create what you want in your waking life because it is so easy in your dream.
Dreams are much more than just where you go when you sleep. They show us many things and can be useful in helping us with our everyday life. They can also be a great escape to have some fun and create some amazing lucid dreams!
Keeping a dream journal is one of the best tools to help you to remember and analyze your dreams. Have fun with your lucid dreams and happy dreaming!
